Robert Bly, född 23 december 1926, amerikansk författare bosatt i Minnesota. Har även varit verksam som psykolog.

Bly är grundare och redaktör för tidskriften The Fifties. 1966 grundade han även organisationen The American Writers Against the Vietnam War.

Bibliografin består av en brokig samling poesi, mycket översättningar från skandinaviska språk, samt prosa och facklitteratur. Bland de sistnämnda kan särskilt nämnas Iron John, eller Järn Hans (sv. översättning), en bok om manlig psykologi som uppmärksammades av omvärlden.

Hans karriär har kantats av ett andligt kall, något som lett till översättningar av mystiska poeter, gärna österländska, samt antologin The Soul Is Here For Its Own Joy. Han har även haft en livslång brevväxling med den gode vännen och poeten Tomas Tranströmer (publicerades som Air Mail) som också haft en påverkan på Bly's förhållande till poesin. Deras poesi har ett släktskap, något som förtydligas än mer av deras brevväxling, utan att för den sakens skull vara plagierande eller beroende.
