- NASB - Then God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”
Andra dagen - Gud skiljer vattnet i två delar: en del på jordens yta, och en del, antingen i atmosfären eller i yttre rymden. Vattnet i atmosfären bildade sannolikt ett ånghölje som gjorde att hela jorden hade ett varmt och behagligt klimat (se även Skapelsedagarna).
