Harold Scott MacDonald "Donald" Coxeter, född 9 februari 1907 i London, död 31 mars 2003 i Toronto, var en av 1900-talets mest betydande geometriker^{[1][2][3][4][5]}.

Coxeter studerade vid Cambridge där han fick sin grundexamen 1928. Han disputerade 1931, varpå att han flyttade runt och läste vidare för bland annat Oswald Veblen. 1936 flyttade Coxeter till Kanada, där han 1948 fick en professur vid University of Toronto.^[6]

Coxeter har skrivit flera böcker som av många anses stå i en klass för sig, både vad gäller pedagogik och innehåll. I dessa är Coxeters geometriframställning ofta främst syntetisk och som därför kanske bättre betonar idéer, det geometriska innehållet och skönheten hos geometrin.

Matematikern Robert Moody sa om Coxeter att "Modern science is often driven by fads and fashions, and mathematics is no exception. Coxeter's style, I would say, is singularly unfashionable. He is guided, I think, almost completely by a profound sense of what is beautiful."^[7]
